What happens
Every night Otto the owl flies out with his leather satchel: a letter for Ned the mole, one for the beavers on the houseboat, one for a rabbit on the snowy hill. Satchel almost empty — then the wind rises and the last letter spins out into the storm. Otto dives after it over dark treetops, catches it on a wet bridge rail, and delivers it to Vera the tortoise, who whispers that someone remembered her.
