What happens
It's a gray, drippy day, and Lottie has an umbrella as bright as a rainbow — red and orange, yellow and green, blue and purple. Out she goes to splash in the shiny puddles, and then she hears a small mew: a kitten under the garden bench, wet and shivering. There's room, so the kitten comes under. Then a lost duckling paddling in circles. Then a mucky puppy with droopy ears. Then a shivering lamb by a fence. Lottie walks every one of them home, one by one.
