What happens
All Wren's brothers and sisters have flown away, and Mama says today is her turn — but the ground looks very far down and her wings feel very small. So they start smaller: hop to that twig, then the next, then open your wings and trust the wind. Wren dips, rises, glides over the pond, climbs into pink-and-gold clouds, and lands back in the nest all by herself.
Why it works at bedtime
For a child facing something that looks impossible from the edge. The strategy is broken into steps a three-year-old can copy, and it ends with Wren asleep dreaming of the sky.
